Affiliated Clubs

Clubs affiliated with the Australian Climbing Association

Currently the ACAQ has as affiliates three of the major rockclimbing clubs in Queensland. Members of all affiliated clubs receive as part of their membership dues ACAQ membership. We encourage all members of these clubs to participate in ACAQ events and join in meetings.
 

BRC – Brisbane Rockclimbing Club

The Brisbane Rockclimbing Club was originally founded in 1965, but was re-established in its present form in 1987 as a means of promoting communication and social interactions between climbers. BRC climb every Tuesday night at Kangaroo Point and have regular trips on the weekends.
 

QUT Cliffhangers – Queensland University of Technology Rockclimbing Club.

Cliffhangers Logo The QUT Cliffhangers Rockclimbing Club is based at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia. The club in its current form was created in 1994. Climb twice a week Kangaroo Point Cliffs on Monday and Wednesday nights and away trips most weekends.
 

UQMC – University of Queensland Mountain Club

UQMC Logo The University of Queensland Mountain Club was started in the mid 1970s by the late Fred From. Initially named the UQ Climbing Club, it has made numerous name changes over the years to appropriate the vision. UQMC operates within the UQ semester and conducts frequent hiking and climbing trips while providing bi-weekly climbing nights at Kangaroo Point.
